Jira doesn't have this yet. The Individual Capacity Planning feature is still in progress.

The cleanest workaround I've seen is a dedicated project with a simple workflow (Requested > Approved > Done) and custom fields for dates and leave type. It's manual but it works. The Kanban approach someone suggested is similar but your PTO shows up on your boards, which can get noisy.

There are also Marketplace apps that handle this without creating issues. I built one (TeamOps), Tempo has it as part of their suite, and there are a few others. Depends on what matters to you most.

Hi @Dario Sanatkar, impressive that you got 150+ users into a custom visibility layer. That's real engineering effort, and it clearly solved a real problem. One thing I've seen trip up teams at that scale: visibility into what people are working on is step one, but the harder question is whether that work is moving the needle on anything that matters. A few things worth pressure-testing in your setup:

Can you trace any given task back to a team goal or company priority?
When priorities shift at the top, how quickly does that propagate down to what's in the backlog?
Are teams blocked on each other in ways that aren't visible until a deadline slips?

You've built the 'what is everyone doing' layer. The next layer is 'does it add up to something'. That's where OKR alignment usually comes in, not as a reporting exercise but as a way to make the visibility actually actionable. Curious how you're handling priority changes across those teams right now.

Before deleting a Jira group, what do you check in Jira Cloud?

I keep coming back to the same Jira Cloud cleanup problem: group cleanup.

Deleting the group is the easy part. Figuring out what it still affects before making the change is the part that gets messy.

Atlassian’s own documentation says the UI does not directly show whether a specific group is used in a permission scheme, and their workaround points admins to the REST API plus Python.

In practice, the first places I keep checking are:

permission schemes
project roles

Disclosure: I built Group Impact Audit for Jira for this workflow. It is read-only and focused on showing group references in permission schemes and project roles before cleanup.

Curious how other admins are handling this today.

I’ve done both, and I’d say long-distance walking is much more about endurance, especially during IML events. With the time limits, you know you need to complete 50 km on both days, or at least slightly less on one of them.

One cleanup risk I keep seeing is group cleanup specifically. Field and scheme sprawl are visible; group impact usually is not. Before removing a group, I now treat four checks as mandatory: permission schemes, global permissions, project roles, and shared filters or dashboards. Oh this is one of my favorite topics! 😍 Thanks @Amanda Barber for choosing this topic for our "Feel good Friday".

I love spending my free time creating mandalas, painting, and trying out DIY crafts. I usually set aside a little “creative time” in the evenings or on weekends, even if it’s just 30 minutes, and treat it like a non‑negotiable meeting with myself.

Whenever I make time for these hobbies, I notice I feel calmer, more present, and much less stressed. They help me reset mentally, spark new ideas, and give me a nice sense of accomplishment that carries over into the rest of my week.
